Denim fabric

This extra-thick denim is woven on an old-fashioned power loom. The red and white lines visible on the edge of the fabric are proof that it was made on a vintage loom. It weighs approximately 23 ounces, 1.5 times heavier than the fabric used in UES's five-pocket jeans . It's pre-shrunk to limit shrinkage to less than 5% after washing . This durable fabric is used by UES for sewing pouches like tote bags . Denim of this thickness places a great strain on the loom, so few factories can weave it, and production is limited, making it a valuable commodity. The raw cotton is a blend primarily of American cotton. It's rope indigo dyed, revealing the undyed white core as it fades , creating a beautiful gradation from light blue to dark navy.
The warp and weft threads are the same thickness, the warp threads are indigo rope dyed, and the weft threads are off-white. 100% cotton.  

Elasticity: None  

Feel: This fabric has a different thickness than the denim used in regular jeans . Because it is woven on a power loom, the weft thread density is high, resulting in a bulky and voluminous fabric. Although it has been treated to prevent shrinkage and twisting, it may shrink slightly after washing . We do not recommend using a machine dryer.

*In the production of clothing, there is inevitably some leftover fabric after cutting and fabric for alterations. We sell leftover fabric in the hope that such fabric will not go to waste and can be used by those who need it.  

*The aim is to make effective use of leftover fabric, and long usable lengths are not cut up.
