The name "BART" comes from the idea that it would be fun if shoes worn by Burt Baskin, co-founder of "Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream" (whose menu design resembles these laces), and Bart, the main character of the American national animation "The Simpsons," had such shoelaces.

Vincent Shoelace was founded by a male and female duo from Kyoto.
They encountered a beautiful shoelace at an antique shop and discovered it was American-made from the 1950s.
Unfortunately, the lace was too short to be used, which inspired them to create the shoelaces they wished existed.
